Rooster (雞公), 2024

As the old Chinese saying goes, "Every design has meaning, and every meaning brings good fortune." Every pattern in the Chinese symbol carries a blessing. A rug reinterpretation of the classic Rooster Bowl (雞公碗) design, which dates back to the 15th century - The Ming dynasty. Symbolising Prosperity, Home, and Family Connection in Chinese Culture. The rug transforms a traditional, cultural blessing into a modern piece that fosters connection, conversation and collective memory. The rug’s soft texture invites gatherings and provides comfort, much like a dining table but less formal. Tactile quality encourages people to linger, sit, play, eat and engage in physical interactions.
